Life Coaching is about performing at your best through the individual and private assistance of someone who will challenge, stimulate and guide you to keep growing. It is not a therapy or include counselling.
Typical Life Coaching clients are looking to clarify their goals, -which could range from weight loss, create better job satisfaction, build self-esteem, to simply enjoy life more,- and to find support and motivation to go after their goals. They have recognised a need to address a situation or issue that is no longer what they want it to be.
The core concept of life coaching is that if a client does the same things, in the same way, they will get the same results. So, having defined the desired result, the coach invites the client to explore ways of changing what is being done or how it is being done.
Some of the advantages of using a Life Coach include:
- Accomplishing more, in less time
- Minimising problems and tackling the remainder
- Becoming more effective
- Building self-esteem and confidence
- Access to a wide range of techniques, tailored to your specific situation
Any result derives from action. A key component in achieving results is for the client to recognise that every action will move them closer to, or further away from the result they seek. Each session will close with the client agreeing to undertake certain actions before their next session.
Subsequent sessions begin with a review of the actions taken with the results achieved and any lessons learned are discussed. The client will also be invited to examine their feelings and emotions whilst undertaking the suggested actions.
After 6 to 10 sessions, most clients have found enough direction and motivation to continue on the newly discovered road without further support from a coach. Alternatively Miranda is also available for workshops around a specific theme.
